Adderbury Life - Sunday 7th June 2015

Breakfast toast with the last pot of my dark thick cut Seville Orange Marmalade from January 2014 - how to get thru' to Jan. 2016 before finding that season's new batch of Seville oranges for the marmalade making session!!!

It's just life or the managing of its complexities...

Oh well, never mind, time will pass ...which reminds me.......last weekend, whilst still being perplexed with my new computer, we joined family and friends for The Big Lunch  at St. Mary's Church in Adderbury where we dined royally on donated platters of homemade kitchen foods from the congregation....

On Thursday morning I created a Ha Ha for Team WI's Addebury & District wild flower garden at Katharine House, with seeds from the Grow Wild Seed Kit people - flowers to the people - with Kew Royal Botanic Garden supported by The Big Lottery Fund.  Wē've been working with the Volunteer Garden Team since the end of April, helping to create a beautiful wild flower bed for KHH, and they have been untiring in their help and assistance for which we are all very grateful; and we're terribly excited by the very  idea of developing our wild flower garden when these wonderful plants are so under siege from modernity.  Long live the natural world I say and let's have more environmental diversity and enrichment for all living beings.

Now its Sunday morning and in a few hours Team WI  will be at our wild flower garden at KHH and I'm looking forward to meeting our visitors and telling them how our garden came into being.  Here it is yesterday still being made ready for the Open Day ....

.

Of course, there's also the Canadian GP,  the French Open Tennis championship and many other events going on this weekend; and I didn't even get to watch the tiniest fragment of The Derby yesterday!

What  busy time of year is summertime - "and the living is easy..." - not quite sure about that Mr. Gershwin!!!

happy days!!!
