Adderbury in Oxfordshire for their Community Food Market - Thursday, 14th May 2015

We have our own Community Market in Adderbury, Oxfordshire, which meets every month at The Institute on the second Thursday from 6 - 8.15pm.

The market is run and organised by a  Village committee who themselves meet on a regular basis to plan and prepare for  future dates, stall holders, themes and happenings like the Christmas market and the regular charity or local body stall at a future market event.

The Institute faces onto the Village Green and is positioned adjacent to the main Oxford Road through the village which makes for easy access by foot and vehicle.  There is a balcony over the front door entrance where market supper maybe taken whilst watching the comings and goings down below which is rather fun, don't you think?

My dear Aunt, who  will rather splendidly celebrate her 94th birthday soon, used to take me out to dinner when visiting her in the school Easter holidays.  We would go out for dinner and well, curiosity would get the better of us as we waited for our dinner to arrive, and make guesses about our fellow diners!  How naughty of us, you think, no not really, just a little harmless fun to while away the waiting hour!!!

And the idea sometimes comes to life when I find myself without employment for a minute or two.

But now I must confess this blog post was begun a month ago on May 14th and it's my Aunt's birthday tomorrow, and well my nwotes were interrupted, my computer broke down so here I am,  still making heavy headway with its newness; ah well life's little difficulties must be overcome, somehow!!!

Well, now its June and we were all together for supper at June's Community Food Market in Adderbury for it was the dear SO's birthday and we'd heard that Smart Cookies were putting  on a salmon  dish, so we decided to meet up there even though the birthday boy doesn't include fish in his "most favourite" food list.  I love salmon and many other types of fish making me very happy to eat Virginia's supper.

Salmon terriyaki...

Six family members sat down together with friends upstairs at The Institute where the talk was all family driven or holiday fascinating about Austria and Salzburg in particular, where my dear Sister Sally and I spent a lovely holiday together years ago in 2004.

And talking about Austria, did you know the next GP comes from Austria?  I once sat thru' an entire race, once, but not after that,  preferring to do as my Aunt does and peep occasionally at the TV sports reportage or even have the TV coverage showing, without consciously viewing its progress, kidding oneself you're not watching it.  Hehehe!

Ah ha, the TV is on now and they're showing a review of today's Trooping the Colour ceremony in London for HM The Queen's Birthday Parade from Horse Guards Parade.  Such a brilliant spectacle with HM inspecting Her troops, the colourful uniforms, the soldiers mounts' and the well turned-out invited audience closely watching the majestic performance unfold before their rapt eyes.

The dear SO has just fed us rather well on his best roast pork with apple sauce and a good variety of veggies - its been a good day!

Toodle loo
