Organic Food Post Easter Hot Cross Buns & Other Delicacies - Sunday, 12th April 2015

The weekend's done and tomorrow will soon be upon us.  We've supp'd well tonight on a simple spicy soup of sweet potatoes, kidney beans, garlic and chilli followed by a delicious bowl of nutty green stir fry with beans and Parmesan cheese.

Sweet dishes are delightful but ...its good to eat vegetables in stir frys and soups.  And we have had sweet foods today for I've baked my organic egg custard tart and, I for one, enjoyed a wonderful bowl of seeded muesli with plum compote and a sprinkling of Jo Thompson's Organic Granola from Once Bitten.

Jo regularly presents her wonderful array of sweet delights at the Adderbury  Community Food Market on the 2nd Thursday of each month at The Institute, Adderbury,  from where I purchased her granola last week.

sweet mouthful for the afternoon

A little organic homemade bread from the dear SO which has made today a very comfortable day for the household.  Nice food just makes one feel good, which has been doubly helpful for me catching up with blogs and paperwork and the man of the house continuing with his DIY and such like.

A busy house too with a grandchild and an adorable frisky puppy to amuse and keep from chewing everything in sight.

Well, the grandchild ate the last hot cross bun, demanding to know why no more such buns may be made until next year...and fruited buns were promised but she's still not convinced they'll taste the same without their embellishment.  We'll see...

Oh and one other sweet delight is under construction.  A summer pudding of mixed berries and cherries snuggled cosily in a nest of white bread; soft white everyday bread for a quick trial.  I'm sure it will be quite scrumptious and perfectly good to eat and a good practise session.

Happy eating !!!
