Deddington Farmers' Market - Saturday, 25th April 2015065

Here in the church, I find these colourful and attractive Stone Coasters for sale - just love the patterns
Out bright and early for we're visiting Deddington's monthly Farmers' Market and we'd also thought Saturday was the day for  our local council body, Cherwell District Council was giving out free bags of compost to citizens of Banbury, but it wasn't, so out earlier than intended,  we headed off to Deddington for their market.  Then we were there far longer than intended, chatting to stallholder friends, sampling cheese, biscuits, cured meats, savoury balls of a delicious mixture and I had a smashing piece of chocolate walnut cake. from Elli's Kitchen while He tucked into a large square of a savoury tart of some kind!!!

We bought some food items of course, picking up a few nice goodies to take home with us and I bought tomato and pepper plants which, actually, are still waiting to be dug into my greenhouse.

Then we wandered over to Deddington's historic church of St. Peter and St. Paul where the craft stallholders congregate with their temptingly colourful stalls.  The church kitchen is just inside the main door, manned cheerfully by three friendly village church goers,  happily dispensing beakers of steaming hot drinks with cakes and biscuits  We wandered around all the stalls, me clicking away madly with my camera, as I'd been doing outside too.  While all this was going, suddenly the Scout group on duty action for the day with their leaders snaked their way around the stalls.  A long green body with a fearsome head, it was rather fun and definitely added to the ongoing chaos.

"here be dragons"
Outside the church the regular Big Issue magazine seller was doing her bit but the wind was getting to her and people were supplying her with hot drinks and cake to keep her going.  She also sells her magazines in Banbury which keeps her busy during the week.

We finally tore ourselves away and drove off to Adderbury where the craft Market by the Green at The Institute was being held and it was also Adderbury's Day of Dance when our three Morris Men dancing groups entertain throughout the village.  There's the Adderbury Village Morris Men, the Adderbury Morris Men and Sharp and Blunt, our ladies Morris dancing group.

We were having a very active day with lunch and coffees out on a bright warm but windy day
